A hybrid system is combining different types of insulation. A common hybrid system is 2" of closed cell for a vapor barrier and then additional layers of open cell on top to achieve desired R-value. Another common system is 2" of closed cell spray foam on the attic floor for air barrier with blown-in insulation on top to achieve desired R-value.

No. When you insulate an attic roof deck, it becomes part of your building envelope. That area then needs to be conditioned or equipped with ventilation and a dehumidifier and the old fiberglass or cellulose needs to be removed.

Installation times vary by the project size and complexity, but it can typically be completed in 1-

2 days.

Spray foam installs may have a temporary odor immediately after installation but this typically dissipates in 24 hours.

Properly applied spray foam can last as long as the building it's installed in, although closed cell foam tends to last longer due to its greater rigidity and water resistance.
