IFTI DC315 Fireproof Paint for alternative Thermal and Ignition Barrier for Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF)

With the application of spray foam insulation in buildings, certain implications must be addressed to meet International Building Code (IBC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements. Per the IBC, when spray foam insulation is installed within a building, it is required to be separated from the building interior by means of a thermal barrier and/or ignition barrier such as ½" drywall or metal siding. In cases where spray foam insulation will remain exposed, the thermal barrier is often achieved by encasing the foam in an intumescent paint, such as DC315.

IFT DC360 Fireproof Paint for Wood and Gypsum

DC360 is used to increase fire resistance on floor and ceiling assemblies, wall assemblies, roof-ceiling assemblies, and individual structural members. DC360 Fireproof Paint can be applied to combustible materials in attic spaces to meet ignition-resistant material thus allowing the elimination of costly sprinkler systems in many applications.
